About Us
In 1996 Ralph Praeger left a national firm to form R. Praeger and Associates, a firm that specialised in property law and utilised over twenty five years of Ralph’s then practising experience.
As the firm’s success grew, Ralph formed a partnership with Gerard Batt, a mining and commercial solicitor and colleague for over ten years. With Ralph’s background in property law and Gerard’s in mining and commercial, the two saw common synergies in their areas of practise and the opportunity to enhance the quality of their services for clients. From this concept came the Praeger Batt Solicitors name and branding as it is known today.
Joining AustLaw in 2001, Praeger Batt became part of an 18 firm network. The main objective of this network is to provide members with an innovative and supportive forum to share information and utilise its collective resources for the benefit of each firm involved. Chairmanship of this organisation now lies with Partner, Gerard Batt, until 2007.
In 2004 one of Praeger Batt’s Associates, Richard Ellem became Partner and with the already extensive knowledge of property, mining and commercial law of both Ralph and Gerard, Richard brought outstanding success in the area of dispute resolution and litigation. With three distinct Partners and four divisions of law, Praeger Batt’s relatively short history has seen the firm develop into a highly skilled and successful firm committed to steady growth and delivering high quality results to its clients.
